    I got her a plate as well.

    I don't know Gary, but I don't think it is, as it is only circa 110mm in diameter, so a 105mm would be my guess. Hopefully someone who knows about these will comment at some stage. I found it strange that it is not marked in a similar manner to the 18 pounder cases I own, though I think it is typical for WWI German cases to not be marked.

    If the case is a 10.5cm example it was probably used in one of these.

    Gents, Ned is correct.....I have a small collection of these shell cases...7.7cm, 10.5cm and the one Gary has, the elephants foot ! great for storing umbrellas in ! and one complete 7.7cm case and shell.
    I will be listing them shortly on classifieds...
