The iii is probably 111 (mark111) the cf is cordite filled full charge and the k could be Kynoch.

Hello-the 6 pounder/57mm was a common type of naval weapon used on large ships (cruisers, battleships) as an anti torpedo boat gun c1900 and also used on said boats and destroyers as a secondary part of their armament-were also used as shore mounts for harbour defence. By WW1 the type was not fitted to new ships but then many older weapons in storage were fitted to merchant ships for defence against surface raiders, U boats etc .Then the requirement comes along for a gun to arm the newly developed tanks in British service-the 6 pounder then becomes the standard armament of most tanks, fitted in sponsons on either side of the vehicle-your shell is most likely a tank round given manufacture in 1917.

wayne, can you post the measurments of the diameter of the rim, length of the case, and diameter of the opening of the shell. If you can post this, I can probably find what 6 pounder shell it is for you.
    Regards, Simon.

    Wayne,
57mm x 306mm with a rim of 76mm is the nearest WW1 calibre to your shell.
This is the calibre for the 19th century Hotchkiss and WW1 armoured fighting vehicle (AFV).
    Hope this helps.
    Regards, Simon.

Depends on the shells and the prices. List them and how much he wants on here, and you should get some feedback on their value.
