It will display very well.

I second the above. These boxes of ammunition are a nice way to feather displays of combat gear. They display especially well alongside the corresponding weapon.

Hmm would asking a MG42 for Christmas be a tough call at my age

A nice addition to your collection, the primer annulus colours red and green do not indicate tracer colours, red is AP and green is standard ball.Tracer ammo would have a black bullet tip and a variety of primer colours,so a black tip with red primer would be AP tracer and so on.......Pete.

Thanks Zwerge! Now that I think about I realise if this was a belt of Just tracer it would be pretty weird.

Great box of ammo,
I so regret shooting the "Surplus" ammo I used for plinking back in the 80's. Now its collectable. All I have now are empty shells and a couple of floaters in the bottom of my ammo cans..

I always find it interesting how much period live ammo got to America. I remember seeing fellow member UK cousin a while back post his stash of Period German Mauser rounds that could be fired.
What Gun were you firing them from? Just out of curiosity.

Nice ammo mate.
Hard to find that stuff here.
An MG42 is definitely a good list item.....I'd send Santa a feldpost letter so he knows what you want this year!
