An american EOD guy here, stationed in Germany...A few brass cartridge questions..

Article about: Hey guys, Well, to start this off, we were called out not too long ago to destroy a bunker in Grafenwoehr (where I'm stationed as EOD). History says that back in the day a fake Maginot line

Yeah hassiman, we come across them quite often. But your right, the base fuse is a pain. We've been like 1 for 4 with trying to pop the fuses out of these things without blowing the round. It can be done though. And no, unfortinuately, i can't ship one to you sorry.

The small Bodenzunder on the KwK 43 is know to be the most dangerous around. They came pre-cocked with no centrifigal blocks and just a thin metal sleeve holding back 2 ball bearings which block the firing pin from the primer cap.
After 60 years many of those thin metal sleeves have gotten even thinner and even the slightest movement will release the pin and the SURPRISE! Most Deminers won't touch 'em and blow them in-place... of course you don't always have the luxury of BIP.

Are you allowed to collect what doesn't blow you up?

Cool stuff, thanks for posting Adam- just for the record though, to keep things accurate since you got good, correct headstamp info, the caliber of these German rounds is 7.92mm not 7.62mm.
    Ohhhhh- pillage then burn...
