Any ideas about what type of bullet this is?

Article about: This is another one of my finds from a piece of land which was previously used by the army as a training area. Does anyone have any idea's on what type of bullet this is, I don't have any id

    This is another one of my finds from a piece of land which was previously used by the army as a training area. Does anyone have any idea's on what type of bullet this is, I don't have any idea where to start

    it looks like an early 303 blunt nose round i dont have one to hand at the moment to measure it where was it found

    I'm sure that its a .303 round, I just tried putting it into an old .303 shell case I have and it fits perfectly. And im keeping my relic sites to myself for just now just incase theres more to be found

    no problems ive found some of these blunt noses at former training grounds in the past, i think they were used up untill the first world war

    Nice find. Definitely a snub nose 303 rifle round, circa WW1.

    Should find plenty more with the metal detector.

    Thanks Steve, im going to need a lot of luck with the detector I use I found more 20mm shell cases by digging in random spots than I did with using the detector

    It's a shame you live so far away otherwise I'd offer to take you on a trip relic hunting to see if it is technique or your detector

    A lot of the time its the distance that makes the problems but its just one of those things we have to deal with, makes interesting road trips though

    And trust me, its the detector....
