Hi, I was wondering if anyone could help identifying this casing I've recently picked up. It's dated 1901 and has the WD broad arrow as well as a multitude of other markings that mean nothing to me. I have draw these out as I was having no luck photographing it! The case is approximately 12" high and has a base diameter of 2 7/8". Any helpidentifyingit would be much appreciated.

We really need the neck diameter to get the calibre but it could be a 6 Pr. Nordenfelt and it is a Mark III.

What I can tell you is that it was originally loaded with Cordite Full Charge and was reloaded with another Full Charge (CFF stamp). When reloaded it was annealed ("A" in circle). the rest are date and inspectors stamps.

It does look like a 6pdr case. What is the diameter of the neck?

I think it is indeed a 6pdr then. I have a 1916 dated 6pdr projectile and the diameter is about the same.
