British MK7 .303 Ammo

Hello all,

It's been a while since I have posted. I have picked up a couple items here and there but am now faced with something I have zero idea. I've been contacted by someone who has a few boxes of ammo. Just wanted to get your opinions on whether or not buying this type of thing is safe, as it has been, as far as I know, sitting in an abandoned house. Any advice on this would be awesome! Thank you, as always!

It should not be a problem at all. I have shot WW2 ammo looking worse than that and it either fires or not

Hi Doug. Should be safe, and is a nice find,
though I'm used to seeing British military
ammo in paper wrapping........

Ive read a couple pages that said these are commonly reloaded after the war for the Greek Civil War and other post-WWII incidents. Assuming these are ok as they are still wrapped.

Steve, are you saying that the wrapping I show here is common or not?

I'm used to seeing light brown paper wrapping tied
with a string. The one case/bullet you show looks
very clean and free of corrosion, so - if the rest
are like this - good to collect or shoot.........

Its Australian, made at Small Arms Ammunition Factory No 3, Hendon, Australia.
Is it just in cartons or did it come in a tin lined wooden box as well?

I'd keep it as collectors ammo. Not much WW2 MkVII left now. I used some post war POF stuff on Saturday and the primers were on there way out. Click bang on quite a few occasions.
