Hello everyone my parents have a farm at Stoke heath and during ww2 some areas of these fields were used to repair planes and also near by there was a shooting range for the pilots and gunners to practice.
We did find a lot of 303 ammunition that must of been buried (used)
I found this up on the farm last week it was in some soil I have cleaned it up.
    Is it ww2 ammunition ?

    I'm interested in this ammunition.
Why doesn't it say 30 06 on the cartridge ?
And what gun was this for please.
    Is this dated 1932

30-06 is the civilian designation. It was caliber .30 in the military. In 1932 it would have been used in Browning .30 caliber machine guns, Springfield rifles and the P-14 Enfield I believe.
