Hi there,

Does anyone of you knows if this manufacturer made Incendiary/tracer or Explosive bullets?
I cannot find anything about what ordnance they produced.
Headstamp marking on the casing =

fer / S* / 12 / 43

Ok that is a lot number.
Does it mean that the load is marked on the headstamp?
I always tought that the S* stands for the material of wich the casing was made.
And that the bullet load was marked with colors around the primer or on the tip of the bullet.
Thats why I want to know if this manufacturer made any bullets with a load inside.
I have found an MG ammo box full with bullets of the same lot.
We dismantle them and put them in display, but we dont know if there are any tracers involved or Incendiaries

Headstamp is the load yes.
there are some rounds not in the list but the general rule is that it is corect.
s* is brass case

The loading is on German ammo indicated by tip colours,check here,scroll down........Ammunition for Armor-Testing WW2 7.9mm - 7.92mm Mauser

The load is NOT indicated in German headstamps. All you can say about your round is that the case was made by fer. The round could have been loaded by another facility with bullets from yet someone else. You need the box label to know the answer.

If the primer annulus is green it is a ball round.

What colour is the annulus and does it have any tip colour?
