Help with Id of bullets??

Hello all, sorry if anything is wrong still getting use to using the site and uploading pictures and such, soo please go easy on me

What i have here is a 4 large bullets my dad has had for years, he was in the RAF for 19 years and due to his job, which the title has totally gone from my head, he spend alot of time on the ranges. He has told me he picked these up off a range, or rather dug them up. He believes they are ADEN cannon rounds but just wanted to see if anyone can tell me for sure what exactly they are

Each round has different markings but i have taken pictures of only one round:






On the bottom of some of the rounds such as the ones above they are blue, does that indicate they are practice rounds??

If anyone knows can you explain the markings too please?

RG = Royal Ordnance Factory Radway Green

To be more precise about your example.

In the extractor groove:
"J" is the case type of the service round, previous case types A, B, C etc being either the short Low Velocity Aden case or development types.
"30MM" is the calibre.
"RG" is Radway Green as described above.
"79" is the date.

Around the belt:
"507" is the Lot number.
"CY" is Royal Ordnance Factory Chorley which was the filling station.
"79" is the date.
"PRAC" is for Practice.
"4Z" is Practice Mark 4 and the "Z" is for nitrocellulose propellant.

To answer your question about the blue practice rounds containing uranium. The answer is no.

It very interesting to see these as we find them on our range here. We do get visits form our cousins up north and across the pond here so that they can play at our range.
