Help with ID please

First of all, greetings and thank you for having me!

Was hoping somebody would be able to help me to identify this item. It is what appears to be a shell with an unusually shaped nose. It has a double driving band and 4 holes in the base in a trefoil type configuration. It is 305mm from base to tip and the diameter at the base is 92mm.

Any help would be greatly appreciated,

APCBC minus the ballistic cap. maybe 17 pounder.

APCBC certainly... but not 17pr with a driving band like that. Seems to be a 3.7" APCBC
