Possibly a British 2 Pounder ..... with a /43 meaning "1943"
HV - High Velocity .. (The round should be 40mm diameter).

It's a British 2 pounder made in 1943. Certainly not WW1. I can't find my list of manufacturers codes at the minute....will keep looking

It is a 2pounder shell head, this is nearly the same as my two, mine are dated 1942, you should find that there is an almost invisible join, either under the top band of paint or just under, this will unscrew and expose the interior of the shell , i didnt realise this myself but i wondered where the explosive armour piercing charge would be and just turned the head and it unscrewed, it makes the piece more interesting
