Miniature Stokes Mortar

Hi There
I wonder if someone could help me with an unusual item I have, it is a miniature Stokes Mortar shell (picture below). Can anyone shed an light on whether it was a training aid or some special presentation item as it is in a case. It does have the Mod arrow marked on it.

Hi Chris,
Great little piece as john say,s could be factory made by engineer or presentation piece, either way lovely item. I had a full size one in my collection yrs ago wish i still had it.
