    Hello all,
This is a No 23 Mills Bomb I picked up the other day.
It appears to be a DP grenade dated 1917
Value I don't know I paid £35 for it because I thought it looked nice.
The unususal thing to me is the cut out section is made of wood. Was this the norm?
    Any thoughts appreciated

    Regards

    Jim

I agree, i have seen quite a few of these and the wooden section looks to be home made. What is with the screw on the bottom spring ?

    Hi Jim,
In the center tube, coming off from the base of the plunger appears to be a screw with a lump of something on the bottom of it, also it looks as if the det tube is upside down. Mills bombs are not my area so please forgive me if i am wrong here, a nice find though and you picked it up for a good price as well.
    Best Lyddite.
