For the British .55 cal Boys anti tank rifle as used early in WW2-soon became obsolete as tank armour was increased and other more effective weapons like the PIAT were introduced in service.
A very nice round.........!

The Boys AT Rifle was also used by American forces in the Pacific. Although it was not much good against German armour, it was quite useful against the thinner armour on Japanese tanks and pesky bunker positions. This is another possible explanation for it turning up. Nice find
