This is a shattered 6 pounder projectile I picked up. a good visual of why they went to the capped projectiles with the softer cap to absorb the initial impact, especially against German hard faced armor. I have another one some where that is completely in half
Relatively unusual to see an example with copper driving bands.

I think I can make out some very feint pencil marks just above the 2nd drive band.....it looks like “EEKINS”...”EDKINS”...or similar......???.
