Does anyone know when these were used and if the paint color had any thing to do with the training? I just found this at a shop the only markings are 2. Thanks this site is awsome.

It appears to be a Mk. 1A1 which represents the Mk. II series of grenades. The only remarks on paint and markings notes a number cast and a white band or other white markings. It could have easily been repainted "in the field". Very nice example. Pre thru WW2 is my guess on usage. And later, I'm sure, for any that were not finding their way into somebody's duffle bag.
Thanks, Rick I like it alot, and it was only $9.50
Sweet!
