Relic SS Totenkopfverbände Casing made 1939

I bought last week this casing from my buddy Potatodigger
It seem to be a 98k round made for the Totenkopfverband SS in 1939
The casing is a little bit destroyed but the stamp is good vidible
It was found here in the west of germany
Exist this cardriges?

These are legitimate.

As the SS was not part of the German armed forces in the years before the war, they did not fall under the supply umbrella for munitions, and so they had to take out private contracts with various companies to supply them with ammunition. Most of these 7.92 cartridges are marked 'DWM' for Deutsche Waffen- und Munitionsfabriken, one such contractor. They can be found marked 'SS-TV' as well as simply 'SS'.

I think the one in the photo is a blank as there are no crimp markings on the percussion cap. I have one and found this out recently.

Cartridges don't necessarily require the 'indented' style of crimping to retain the primer in the primer pocket. If this was for a blank cartridge, I'd expect to see the case mouth and neck to appear very different.
