Us ww2 grenades and 50 cal ammo

Couple of grenades pineapple type and some dewat .50 cal machine gun ammo on link ammo is date 41 and 42 bought these in a old surplus store in the 60's in Joplin, MO grenades have been repainted in the years to keep them from further rusting there is no marks on them except REX I think. timothy

'Twin Cities' arsenal, 'Frankford Arsenal' and 'Lake City' arsenal
markings on the cartridges.

The grenades seem to be typical post-war RFX 'practice'
types found in surplus stores of the day - if you notice,
the levers are too short, and are for the M69. The
green one has been painted to resemble a
WWII 'HE' hand grenade.........

I was once fooled by a RFX grenade that was painted like WWII about 6,7 years ago.

First I didn't know better, I did some internet research immediately, and found out the truth. The grenade was returned and got my money back.

Also the RFX were applied on practice grenades only.

However I've seen some examples that the RFX were grind off , so be cautious.

Yeah I just use these for display and had repainted them about 10 years ago as they were rusting badly I would say we bought them anywhere from 68 to 70 was about the last time of going to the surplus store loaded with stuff from WW2, Korea and some Vietnam issue at the time. Many thanks Walkwolf for the ID on the makers of the .50 the only I knew for sure was the LC one. timothy

This type is quite popular for display. The imported grenades
for sale today though, are very poor quality compared to
the earlier repros.........
