WW2 German stick grenade training tool???

Article about: Possibly post war? Any sight of ever been active or live, or deactivated? Could be a prototype or just home made.

    Smoke grenades have a similar-ish shape, don't they? Still, personally I think it's a bad home made copy, maybe a reenactors copy.

    EDIT - No, they don't look like that... Looks like it's time for my morning cup of coffee.
