I'm thrilled to finally own one of these bayonets! I unfortunately paid top dollar because I could never find a bargain. Seem to always be in demand. My first question is if the frog is original and the second question is, why would there be an original serial number scratched out then another one stamped beside it. Thanks as always guys!

Looks a beauty. Love the plum coloured blade.
I would think the frog is original to the piece.

( My scabbard has a diagonal metal strip
attached which the belt goes through )
    Can't help with the serial.........
    Regards,

    Steve.

Thanks Walk! I have wanted one for so long. I'm glad I waited to get one with the frog. I rarely see them.

I have never seen one at a cheap price when I ever do see them (which is rare).

    Great score. Hard to get.

Wasn't cheap. Wish I could say I found it at a garage sale marked for 10 bucks.. Not the case

Don't be sad: down here (and we have to suppose "here" these bayos are less scarce) you won't find a nice specimen like yours for less than 250/300 euros...

Im not sad to say I paid $250 for it. Thought it was a good deal with original frog.

In my opinion you did well
It's a nice bayonet, not so common in these fine condictions.

Nice bayonet. Scabbard is not correct. It should have a metal belt loop not a frog stud. I have 5 of them. Rich A. in Pa.
