Very interesting. That took some work. I've often read that the Allied troops supposedly executed any German caught with the sawtooth bayo, so do you think they were trying to save their own butt by doing this? Maybe I'm stating the obvious.

I like the metal finish on the blade and handle.

Theres something in the book "All Quiet on the Western Front" involving these bayonets and the nasty fate of anyone that was caught with one, I cant remember what it was exactly but it wasnt pleasent.

Gentlemen....we Brits were experts in both wars re the moral high ground (dirt/smears etc..)...and in this case, quietly forgetting that our engineers also used ''sawbacks'' !

Nice one Bill thanks for posting this,i actually wondered what mine would look like without the sawback after hearing about them being ground off. Looks much less terrifying but just as lethal!
