looks like a standard british bayonet for a SMLE
Its a Australian No1 MkIII rifle bayonet patten 1907 from June 1942. The MA stands for Made in Austrlia and the OA on the tip of the scabbard is Orange Arsnal or somthing like that. As previously mentioned, its identical to the British version.
Yup, thanks all.
OA is Orange (town) Arsenal and MA an earlier mark, Munitions Australia
Hello-the MA stamp was standard for the Lithgow small arms factory from its start in 1912 until 1942 when the decentralised sites in Orange OA, Bathhurst BA etc were started in the general region around Lithgow-generally it's believed that the MA stands for Munitions Australia but some sources still state it as Made in Australia-one of those things without a definitive answer in the available info.
