    I acquired this old French Gras bayonet the other day. It has had the blade chopped back to 12 inches to make it into a trench knife. It was quite rusted when I got it, but it cleaned up reasonably well. There's one thing for sure, it isn't a (very) recently modified bayonet like some are!

    Glad you rescued it, I am all for saving the rusted and neglected bayonets of the world.

    Hi Jim,

    Look at the last picture. Third rifle on the right is the Berthier carbine without a bayonet...
