"Green" SMLE P1907 bayonet

Hi, mates !

Received this P1907 SMLE -bayonet, (topmount and chape green varnished !).

Not often seen on this pattern bayonets before ...
Usual, or, unusual ?

A 1915 issued Enfield (EFD) bayonet with the correct 'teardrop' scabbard..sorry im not sure on the paint

The paint is common for equipment used by Australia in jungle conditions eg Papua New Guinea. Have to add that WW1 bayos where reissued to the AIF in WW2

In a German forum a collectors mate told me he thinks, the green painting is a sign for use of the bayonets in Pakistan, Afghanistan, or, other countries ...

I have seen this same colour paint used on weapons: both Sten and Bren gun. These are/were on display in the Airborne Museum Oosterbeek (Arnhem).

Well to my opinion he was wrong, but I stand to be corrected. My equipment and the bayo I have matches up

Given the numbers made, the length of service and the number of countries that have /do use the bayo and rifle, pretty much anything is possible and in more than one place and time.
