    The only other bayonet with a release button like that, that I can think of right now is the Swiss Model 1957.

    Is it not an M7? There is one similar here...M7 bayonet and M8A1 scabard with made in
    W Germany stamped uder the Colt info.

    Not an M7 per se, a German contract of some sort. It doesn't have the regular groove for the lug, it has a hole for a post, like the Swiss bayo, I know the Germans had contracts for some of these, but I've never seen one like this before.

    I've checked the usual websites and can't find one like this in any of them.

    It looks like it has a Norwegian scabbard from AG3 Type 1. Scroll about midway down the page
