Identification help-bayonet

Article about: My father was given this bayonet in the 80's when visiting relatives in Poland. I would appreciate any input or directions for further research. Thanks.

    Eric, you are correct. I think the blue paint might be a more recent
    addition from sometime after it was in use though.........

    Maybe not though.. it could be 'Horizon Blue' paint as was applied to the 1915 Steel Helmet perhaps? It looks the right colour, though I've never seen it applied to a bayonet before.

    I thought about it being period Horizon Blue as well, though I've never
    seen it on a bayonet before either.........!

    after WW1, about 600000 Lebel bayonet were sold to Poland
    do you have a stamp like this ?

    Many possible routes for a Lebel bayo to find it's way to Poland including German captured French stocks from WW1 or 2-the bayo also fits the Mannlicher Berthier long rifles as well as the original Lebel type.

    Thanks for all the responses. Unfortunately I do not have any history of the bayonet other than family kept it hidden until given to my father.
