Re: Identification on socket bayonet
The marking BF under a crown means Belgian manufacture , 1830-1860 period
To be precise,a lot of these bayonets were produced in Luttich,in the east of Belgium.

Belgium produced weapons for everybody-could be for a French, German regional state, British, US Civil War etc etc export musket. What is the internal diameter of the muzzle ring?

Re: Identification on socket bayonet
Socket bayonets like this one were used in several countries like Belgium,(M.1841)
Holland (M.1815) France (M.1822) Switzerland and some Italian states.
The are all alike ,exept maybe for length and markings.. By te way,
The maker behind the initials "BF'' is; "Beuret freres a Liege".
