Hi, Andy !
I´m sure, you´re right !
I know the "usual-worn" scabbard very well.
I catched my fighting knife at a small flea-market many yrs. ago, they´re collecting money for training guide dog´s (for the blind).
I guess, my scabbard was made of an scabbard of a Carcano ?
@ Rich. A.
Very fine knive´s and a smooth display !
Thx. for showing !

Very nice compliments your blades,
to answer the sliders: They were used scabbards of Carcano 91 and even bayonets scabbards Vetterli. Usually they were modified without the parts above and below in brass, were shortened as well as the blade was cut.
Below was used a metal clamp to close and had behind the band to the belt ...
However, there are several different models but what I said above was standard.
To see if your are derived from Vetterli compare them with the scabbard long you have in the first picture, the one being a scabbard Vetteli standard.
