No problem Zephyr. With no markings on the ricasso it is difficult to say what period is the bayonet, you know that these bayonets have "served" in the Italian Army from 1892 (year of official adoption of the 1891 Carcano rifle) till almost the end of 50s.In my personal experience I can tell you that all the Carcano bayonets of this type I have seen without any markings, are assumed to be 2nd WW period, but it is only my experience. Even the dark finishing of the bayonet make me think this period is right.Hope to have been helpful.

often dropped but never used, some might know what I mean.---lol.
My dad said the same thing about an ARVN M16 that he had, -- dropped once----never fired.
