    Hello Hal,
Nice Type 30 made by the Matsushita Metal company known as the National Denki.
This is a variation P 89th series, the series is denoted by the two characters and the serial number range between 609-93365 yours (57663)
This is the most common Matsushita bayonet without the Kokura mark on the blade.
The scabbard has heavy string tied around it iindicating it was also made by Matsushita and painted to match the scabbard.
    A nice piece mate.

    Regards

    Jim

Hi Jim, Thanks for the information on this piece. The scabbard, which appears to be string tied in the photo, is actually wrapped with wire soldered togeher. Best regards, Hal
