The one on the left is for the FAL (Fusil Automatique Léger) - closely related to the the British L1A1 SLR. The type of bayonet is nicknamed by some - the apple corer. Used I believe by the Argentine Army as well as others.

The other is a commercial bayonet possibly made by Eickhorn in Germany. A whole range of these bayonets were made for different types of rifles - not sure which yours is designed for.

    KCB variations

    Thanks Richie!

The German one is an mystery, it doesn't have any fittings at all to attach to a rifle, odd one...

    Cheers for the info

I suspect it was designed purely as a knife.

I just read in that link you sent that it was made as a fighting knife also

The tubular FN FAL bayo is a type 2 model, adopted when the FAL was fitted with a NATO standard 22mm grenade launcher attachment at the muzzle-very different from the knife type SLR bayo or earlier Fal knife bayo-see attached pic

Ahh, nice extra detail about the UGL thanks mate. I have had one of the bladed versions you pictured before, it came from a Falklands vet. Any idea on the value of either of these? I've found a few online but they are not exactly the same.

    Thanks for the help lads

I paid about AU$120 for the FAL knife type and $75 for the tube FAL bayo but prices in Europe would likely be different.

I bought the tube one for about £20-22, knife ones 35 for the Belgian (wood hadle) and something like 38 for one with the plastic. But that was a year ago or so. Constantly looking for a 'long' British trial X2E1, no luck so far.

Here is the cheapest ones I have seen , in they post out of US you won't need even to pay taxes

I have a marine friend who was in vietnam that had one of these issued to him along with a bayonet for a stoner rifle. He said the bayonet is identical but with a lug to attach to the rifle.
