Now that's a KNIFE lol . I already have a very large SOG knife , but it weighs a ton ! And would cause other campers to question my sanity . But if the zombies were at the door I guess it's the one I'd grab . That or my Cold Steel tanto , it's the older one with brass cross guard and pommel . A great knife but I never use it , cause it was quite expensive and a gift from my grandmother , she knows me so well . I'll have to count my knives some day , but it would take some time to dig them all out . Like hats I guess I don't want to know how many I have .
    cheers
We have some of the same knives; I have a big old SOG bowie - I dont use that for camping either. I would indeed be thought (even more) crazy

I like using my knives, but I also have a few Cold Steel Tantos and I certainly dont use them for anything other than looking good.
I dont know why, but I like them.

Initial thoughts on this one please...genuine or not ?........its offered for sale on another site, looks genuine to me but its obvious that the handle and blade are a little 'misaligned' which if I bought it I know would irritate me a little but I have been looking for one for a while......shall I wait for another to come along ? .........decisions...decisions.....
Such "commeroratives" were, (still, are ?), in use in US-units in foreign missionĀ“s as "private purchased" knives.

Really great knives guys. I'm a big fan of SOG and own quite a few.
I also have three modern Mark 2 Camillus versions, and take one
on camping trips and hiking, but I usually have six or seven
    knives with me anyway, Lol.

The one on the left below is a Ka-Bar repro...........

Too bad that the original Camillus company is now defunct

Seems a lot of the old knife companies have gone the way of the Dodo.

I've been meaning to do this for a while - My collection of SOG Specialty Knives.
Almost all of these are of Japanese manufacture, marked 'Seki'. Three more
are absent, as they are packed away with camping gear.

Models include the Trident (2), Aegis, Stingray, Flash II, SEAL 2000,
Government, SEAL Pup Elite, Desert Dagger, Trident folder,
    Twitch II, Airsog, Autoclip.........

    Nice.

I have an old TECH I and bought a Seal Pup and the Pentagon.

I also had the Desert Dagger, but Ive always wanted an original Vietnam SOG Recon Bowie or a 'Fat Guard' Bowie - fat chance of that ever happening.

    Love Cold Steel producs!
I collected knives of many different types before militaria, still do.
Here is a snap shot or two of one of my knife cases. I have many makers, some of which I do not have photos of. There are K-Bars, Gerber, Cold Steel, Al Mar, Boker, Klaas, Buck, EK, Kershaw, and I have 1 Rudy Ruana.
Two of the Magnum Tanto's are San Mai, and there is another in a sheath with a piggy-back mini tanto that I carry when I am stream fishing.

The price of the SOG 'S1' Bowie has always been up there, and likely why I don't
have one as yet. Most SOG knives are made in Taiwan and China these days,
which kind of bothers me, as I had a tough time dropping large amounts
of money on the Japanese made knives (which are superior) when they
first came out in the 80's. The quality of the new product is nowhere
    near as good, IMO.........
