Rather unfortunate username, dontswindle.
The folks here abouts like concise information, in order to respond in kind. It's bound to get the hackles up if your description changes. As said the Forts in France are now protected sites and hallowed ground given the huge numbers of those killed there. Value is as much as two or three are prepared to take it in an auction. Sadly some folk buy the story as much as the item. You haven't given this item much hope given the story so far.
