Heres a ww1 98 05 frog theres a faint date looking like 1913 the rivets are not copper like my other ww1 frogs the staight stiching down the middle is like on my ww2 frogs yet it is of ww1 vintage any ideas folks?

Different makers made the same items, with very minor differences. I have 25 and all vary ever so slightly
I cant read the date in the photo, they are not clear, but i tend to think WW2 era.

I know you can not see date in pic it 99% 1913 or 43? did they make them ww2 ? Cheers.

Its a very nice WW2 frog, note the stitching and rivets in the ones i posted. Yours is in good condition

Just taken frog to work for young eyes i never told them i waas look ing for a date 10 out of 12 pair or eyes are saying 1915 even being faint its the single stich line down the middle of frog that throws me as my other ww1 frogs have 2 lines of stiching towards mouth of frog i do have another 98/05 frog dated 1917 clearly that is of same constrution as frog in pic and i have seen pics of same frogs on bayonets the same as mine
Just got in touch with previous owner of frog said it came of a 1616 dated 98/05 hes not a bayonet collector hes a shooter and wanted a bayonet for his G98 thats fair i have put on a 1916 98/05 just dug out a butcher bayonet with same manufacture frog just like twins dated 1917 i had this bayonet 40 years it came from slum clearance house been together all its life 45 years of collecting and still learning???? Have you folks anything to say on this??????.
