WWII Japanese Bayonet !

Hi, All !

Thought you might like to view this Japanese bayonet I purchased at a local auction about
five years ago. It was tagged "Spanish bayonet" and I suppose they were guessing as to
where it originated. It has a wooden scabbard wrapped with wire and painted green,
which I thought was pretty unique, and upon closer inspection even I knew it was
not Spanish !

It is in mint unissued condition and has only one logo on the fuller-less blade for
National Denki ( National Electric ). These are referred to as "last ditch" weapons
as they were produced toward the final stages of WWII, and several traditional
bayonet features were purposely eliminated to speed production.................

Hi Steve, great bayo and scabbard. I admire the last ditch stuff too. You said that the scabbard was painted green when you found it. Did you refinish it yourself? It was very nicely done.

Nice. I had a chance to buy a Nagoya Bayonet while in China, Xian.
I had seen a lot of fakes but I didn't know the markers mark so left it.
Was for sale on a peasants blanket.
I got home to NZ and looked it up. Of course it was real and Japanese WW2.
They only wanted $5.
Stupid stupid me!!!!

Hi Jay ! Been a while since I first posted this one,
but there is another 'National Denki' up for
review at the moment.

I did not and have not touched the bayonet.
It's as found - and all original as far
as I know.........
