Article about: ust a question that I've had, why are the liners almost always missing on French Adrian helmets? Is it because of the leather used or the way they were placed in the helmet??

    ust a question that I've had, why are the liners almost always missing on French Adrian helmets? Is it because of the leather used or the way they were placed in the helmet??

    French helmets were never fitted with liners until early 1940. Prior to that a medium sized wheel of Camembert or Brie was placed inside the shell to offer padding and a calorie rich meal as and if necessary.

    That makes sense. That's why I never see liners from ww2 Adrians because the French mostly lost the war then!
