    Hi guys,

Seems like a few of these are coming out of the woodwork lately...here's another M1917A1 with a British made lid: maker FS 175.

The name W. Hieken, which is burned on the liner, matches two "Walter Hiekens", each with different birthdays, both serving with the USMC. This lid might have been to the Pacific theatre :-)

Also note the non-standard top nut/bolt, which I have seen seen on other lids. Maybe a field repair or they ran out of the standard stuff?

    Nice helmet.
Someone has replaced the top nut but I still like it.
Sometimes you will find several of the same style helmets and then you will go several years without seeing another one. Just the luck of the draw.

I'd been looking for one these past few weeks, unfortunately lack the funds. They've waited near a century, they can wait bit longer!

Nice helmet instigator. Any idea what is written opposite the soldiers name?
