    Hello all.
I have just secured a very nice ( in my opinion ) Aussie raw edge mark II in a daubed light wash / green cammo pattern. Bought from a local seller who I have bought from before, he was moving it on after enjoying it for a number of years. I initially had my doubts but once in hand, I am convinced it is period.

No back story, no idea but suppose it was done for jungle use?

    Cheers, Dan

Hi Dan, like you, at first I was not convinced with those distance images, but the close ups really tell a different story! I think it stands a good chance of being period cammo as it certainly was applied some years ago. Nice buy. Leon.

Hello Dan, one just like it sold on E Bay, about 3 months ago, it was this one, or it's twin, came from Brisbane.
i like the look of it, i liked the one on Ebay, shows it's age. i think it's a real camo.
if there is 2 of them, that would be interesting.
    Regards

Aussie Camos are bloody hard to find and even harder to find references to prove their authenticity. But they are out there and i reckon this one is good one. Congrats.

Could very well be the same one Mark - my seller was in NSW but he buys and sells a lot ( just his thing, & he makes a few quid on the way ) .... I'll ask him.
He had it listed but I made him an offer to take it down ( naughty me )

Its sort of similar to this M1 that got a thumbs up on another forum - said it was done by a SeaBee mechanic on one of the islands......

Be good if you guys down under could put your heads together, to try & work out where certain camo's were used. Although with the little information out there about them, I know would not be a small undertaking.
For how long was the Mk2 used in service post war.
Nice helmet, with a good age to the camo.
