I believe that these liners are British the head pad in the middle has a vinyl type covering but the padding is red orange stuff that goes to powder with age.

the liner in mine says 7 vero 1940
powdery if you touch it? i believe its authentic british early war
we nead to reserch the makers maks on yours and mine
heres some pics of mine
it is in wonderfull condition but the liner so called vinyl has shrunk and made the liner brittle other than that it is in wonderfull condition

Jan, not as far as i know i think its beyond looking after it will just deteriate before our eyes
maybe some of the other guys wil have some advice on this?
Exactly the same except mine has been painted black over the olive green colour (on the inside inside too). Let´s see were this leads .
