i was just asking because we used some post war liners for them after the war when issued does "97" mean something?
The 97 will not be a British marking as the number 7 is done in Continental fashion.

Nice buy GM has a good period look to it,I would have thought the shell was 1940 as it retains the mk2 chinstrap,most from 1941 onwards recieved the mk3 strap,has a nice period worn look to it,well done GM...........
