I believe that's a Mk IV 'Turtle' helmet. Issued later on in the war, and used for some time afterwards. Are there dates on the liner and shell?

Indeed, as already stated late war or post war into the 80's mkiv.

Whatever its just an opinion.
Thanks guys, i dont have it in hand i suppose i should get in touch with the guy selling it, where would it be date marked?
it`s only £15 nothing special .
..inside rear shell...usually....about 2-3 inches up from rim
they stamped it just in the place where the liner gets in the way so has to be pulled away.....but it may be hidden by paint...they did all that to annoy us collectors......
I believe they're dated in a similar manner to Brodie-style helmets. There should be a date marking around the inner edge of the shell, and on the 'cross' part of the liner.
Not entirely familiar with them, as I've never seen or inspected one personally.
Composite beat me to it! Suppose I'm not the fastest hands in the West after all!

Thanks guys, message sent.
