I know that the LRDG badge depicts a scorpion but I have never come across anything like the helmet pictured before, it looks original, a very nice piece

Thanks Douglas and I am just glad to have found it, though they are obviously not a very well known unit I think. I was looking up a different formation sign for someone on another forum and I spotted it.

Great find on the badge, and a really good helmet to have, that is going to be pretty rare.

Yes, according to Wikipedia, the legion had no more than 6000 members at its height in 1948, so there cant be too many of these helmets about. I paid £40 for it about five years ago so I think it was a good purchase.
