Found this helmet in a antique store. The shell's dated 1942. The has 194? Can't make out the last number. Don't know if the net is original to the helmet.

Found this helmet in a antique store. The shell's dated 1942. The has 194? Can't make out the last number. Don't know if the net is original to the helmet.
A good sign a net has been on a long time is wear to the net where it touches around the rim.Another is a net ghosting to the paint work where it has been on so long.
