    Hello once again. A seller on eBay is trying to sell this helmet as experimental. I know I have seen this type of helmet often on this site whether it is military or civil defense use. The liner is too flimsy for military use although I have seen them on parade helmets of the VFW. Seller states he has paperwork from the inventor when it was introduced to the army in 1926. Please, who and what were these made for.

    It's a inter-war US civil defence helmet with a Cairns Sanitary Liner, they are not uncommon.
