I am not "up" on these but am I correct in thinking this represents the much talked about "Malta" camouflage?

The trouble with this kind of thing as I see it is that the pattern was field applied most likely by the troops themselves which means inbuilt great degree variation.

Regardless of the status of this lid I don't think I would ever consider one without learning a great deal myself or 100% bomb-proof provenance.

At least we can see something to discuss now!!
