    G'day Garry,
Here these are from my previous post and about late 66 early 67 made. The helmet was from the Delta Devils 235th AHC operated Cobras from Can Tho
+ a couple of shots from the Australian War Museum

Nice chopper helmet. I like those for some reason.
Here a few pics that I snapped of a more recent helmet on a flight in the desert.
Its a bit more sinister looking and shows the developement of the helmet.
The shield is there for a reason. Pics came out okay in spite of the pilots 'tactical' flying.

There is a Chinook in there somewhere

So THATS what they mean by a 'dust-off!'

(just kidding, I know thats a different term, I just couldnt help myself)

Yes it does the mic light still works. Now all I need is a cobra gunship.
    Did someone say Cobra?
From my visit to Fort Rucker. Highly recommendable if you are into helicopters.
Hope you are okay with these pics in your thread. If not, Ill delete them - just say the word

It was. Blackhawk going every which way, sometimes almost on its side in a steep bank and then suddenly climbing only to drop like a stone the next moment. Vomit inducing are the words that come to mind.
I have the pilot suspected of doing it on purpose especially for me, cause he kept at it more and more violently.
In my paranoia, if felt like they wanted me to puke in my helmet. I almost did, lol.
Lot of that going around BTW; I remember a sign in the cargo bay of a Herky flying to Kabul. It said: "The louder you scream, the faster we fly!"

A few more pics from Ft. Rucker.
I like the Apache Longbow, but find the Cobra most underrated. The Apache is a super hi-tech machine and does a fantastic job in Astan, but was amongst other things made for engaging multiple tanks targets. The Cobra is just a lean mean killing machine and cost a fraction of the Apache. IMO the Cobra should have been pushed more. It would have been perfect for Astan.

Chain Gun - gotta love it ...

Last but not least; hi-tech recce! Okay, so its low budget, but it works.

I can imagine the commentary from the Brit squaddies in shot there....

I've just noticed, I've got one of those NVG rhino rigs the guy up front is wearing on his lid.
