    To answer my own question having looked into it further yes they did do an exact copy the only difference is the indentation in the top so if its got one of them you are correct and its me not looking close enough.

    Here's some pics of a Belgian liner & shell, the pic of the 3 shells, the one at the back is Belgian. Very hard to tell the difference apart from the countersunk for the lining securing nut & bolt, the chin strap lugs maybe slightly different but still very close to the British ones.
