    that really is a nice grouping leon well done to everybody involved in helping you find a real sought after helmet in superb condition ,very nice indeed mate ,now can i ask were these g.p.o helmets painted in different colours im sure ive seen yellow versions ,perhaps post war? ,cheers james

    Well James, it depends on what type of helmet the GPO has been put on.
    Could be smooth khaki green on the Mk2 No.1, or after 1939 black, Mk2No.2A also black.
    No.2 B,C, & D grey, apart from those colours I haven't seen any other colour, like white for rank.
    Or even red maybe for a fire squad in an GPO depot.
    Be nice to find one though.
