M1917-A1 Kelly helmet stamp 1B

Here I have a M1917-A1 (Kelly helmet) manufactured by McCord Radiator stamped 1B (making this an extremely early model) who produced roughly 900,000 helmets during the 1940-41 period. The contract ended with the adoption of the new US M-1 helmet. The helmet liner is also marked with the soldiers name and army serial number.
On one side it’s marked:-
William Haggard 17075719 Mike
On the other side but very faint:-
Bill Haggard 17075719 Nov-14-1942
I did a search on the WWII US Army enlistment site and here are the results

A very interesting find and a detailed research, Ian
I have this example of early McCord, they are nice helmets that reminds me the first important phase of the Pacific War.

Thanks Roberto I think these helmets are coming to the forefront of collecting as they have been overshadowed by their M1 successor for such a long time

I also think that the A1 variant deserves the attention of collectors.
